Foundation Horsemanship Bridle Riding

Do you want to become a better rider?  Feel like you are one with your horse?  Be able to look and your horse will follow your focus?  Maybe you have been riding your entire life, but never had any formal instruction. Bridle Riding will teach you the basic cues to offer your horse with your focus, weight/ seat, legs and lastly the reins.   It will teach you how to cue your horse to walk, trot and lope or canter in the correct lead.  A good prerequisite for this class is Foundation Horsemanship Ground Skills.  At the end of this 6 week class you will be able to:

• Direct the horse with your body instead of just your hands
• Understand leg cues and rein positions and how they effect your horse
• Identify trotting diagonals and choose the one to help your horse balance
• Canter or lope in the correct lead
• Ride patterns and negotiate obstacles using horsemanship to motivate your horse
