Level 1/2 Freestyle Patterns Playgroup

Level 2 - confident riding at a walk or trot - Progress to level 2 patterns in a confined area on a loose rein and begin using a carrot stick to direct your horse, more than your reins. Improve your balance and body language

Level 2 freestyle patterns - follow the rail, figure 8, weave, million transitions, question box, obstacles, bow-tie

~ Activities we may play with ~

passenger lesson at trot and canter
refined direct and indirect rein, hind quarter and forequarter yields
lateral flexion with your rein or a stick
disengage with 2 carrots sticks
transitions: halt-walk-trot
sideways
squeeze riding through a narrow space, over, or between obstacles

*Equipment needed: hackamore or snaffle, carrot stick,
bareback pad or saddle

*minimum qualification: You must be comfortable walking and trotting your horse.

*The minimum qualifications are put in place to assure that you are in the class that would be of the most benefit to you. This also will help you set goals and be more of a leader for your horse! You don’t need to have already officially passed with Parelli.
